Help!

Can someone, ANYBODY...explain to me how Blogit really works? I just can't seem to get the gist on 'most popular today' and 'most most popular blogs'...I'm really not too interested in my rating, but sometimes I'll see my name when I scroll thru these lists,and I have NO idea how I got there.
