Recycling - the temptation just to dump
My parents always give their bottles a good wash in hot water to get the labels and glue off before they recycle them. I'm not sure about the economics of it but I suspect a lot of the energy saved by recycling is lost in the amount of hot water used. It isn't just them, I know other people who do...
