After returning to the office from my every three month pap-smear I am confronted by twenty some police cars, plain clothes officers and helicopters around our building. " Mam I think you better move on" the well built cop speaks as if he is working the Wizard of Oz's microphone.I am not fond of... Sign in to see full entry.

life inside a cube
Kevin sits in the cube across from me for the past five years. We spend nine hours a day listening to every word the other says. Our chairs are situated as such that we don't visually see each other. Its a strange world to be so close to someone and we talk through the wall. If he ever dies I want... Sign in to see full entry.

aphrodisiac
Roofpig's post started me going on this one. He was musing about enjoying caffeine on Mondays to plow through work. So I'll share how my mind jumps. I believe the stimulated mind really is the happy sexy person. So Roofpig mentions BAWLS, a high energy drink that I have never encountered. I look up... Sign in to see full entry.

Cheerleading Wake Up Call
I don't use an alarm clock because I always wake up at 6:15. Only when we go on vacation or have an early event do I crack out the old electric clock. Then I never sleep. I check the clock every fifteen of so minutes just to make sure it is still working. This weekend we had two special early things... Sign in to see full entry.

Box
Rarely do I see him anymore. When he picks up the children it is only once a month. I shy away. I opened a box of photographs of us. In my hands appear other people. I recall the facts about him: He was funny and smart in college. A great skiier. Sometimes obsessive. Not handsome but carried himself... Sign in to see full entry.

It never rains in California?
Thunder shook the house. Three AM the clock annouces. I can't find my white robe. Peeking out the shutters I can see lightening over the canyon. I can't remember how many seconds you have to wait between the light and the number of miles away. Last weekend we hiked down Blue Bird Canyon and the... Sign in to see full entry.

fall
Evenings are becoming colder. Soup, being a desert tortoise, is slowing down. After my shower yesterday I naked walked into my closet and screamed. I believed I saw a snake. But no. It was just Soup hidden in the corner. His back leg extended. That ugly dinosaur leg that a careless car somelong time... Sign in to see full entry.

The school district here must be loosing their minds. In one of their newest genius plans they came up with the late day Thursday. This rule only applies only to middle school, so if you work and have children of various ages your thursday will surely be a train wreck. This morning after dropping... Sign in to see full entry.

Shame
My daughter read the first three chapters of my novel in progress last night. She is the first to take a peek. I haven't told most everyone who knows me that I am writing every night. If I shared such an idea with the office I imagine the snickering. Why can share that my 401k and brokerage accounts... Sign in to see full entry.

the Lakers
Reading on the internet for basketball drills for my eight year old. He's out front practicing. I can hear the thud of the ball every time it hits the roof. He never gives up until I drag him in.. Thump over and over. His older sister tells him he sits when he shoots and that's the problem. I... Sign in to see full entry.
