Open Uny

After watching the open university program about the publishing world, it doesn't make happy viewing. basicly the odds on getting published are little better than the lottery. so why bother? No, the real answer is to press away with the non fiction writing. this site could be a gold mine if I could just get it going. But by far the best rout is to bring them to me. I still like the idea of travel writing. apart from the obvious handycap of never having gone to the places, I think i could do it.... Sign in to see full entry.

Business on the up.

Good news for Ebay, who are selling our stuff faster than we can put the books on. running out of stock on their pages. Only another 50,000 books left to go! Reading theIndie' today, I saw the young soldier had only done 31 weeks training from leaving school to being shot dead in Iraq. This must be a quicker turn around than WW1? What are we coming too? Young lads must be worrying about the draft in this country? They must be running out of people to stock the army? Still, it means there could... Sign in to see full entry.

Book sales

Having slagged off Ebay/amazon ect, they are now turning around. Not a fortune, but better than the last few weeks. Of course this puts a stop to any writing. Read a really good artivcle in the Indi' about Jewish refugees fleeing nazi Germany and Soviet russia in the 30', to end up in Shanghi. It turns out the Jappanese government during the war, actually protected them. Seems they bank rolled the Japanese modernisation in the 1920-30' so they felt they owed them one. Strange world. Life goes on

One thing which has struck me about this blogging, is that you have licence to write any nonsense you like. when you look at some of the others, and I mean the top ones, they are full of rubbish. Now maybe that's Ok. But what does stick up my arse, is the fact that these people get paid for this. Some must make over a hundred quid a week! Far play to them, if people are stupid enough to part with their money, fine. So why can't I get on this kick too? I can write stuff just as crap as them, and... Sign in to see full entry.

Lazy

Forget to add anything to these blogs. I sometimes wonder if anyone makes any money from this thing. I certainly don't. But that's because I don't send in enough stuff. It used to worry me that I wasn't up to their standards. But when you read some of the rubbish which passes for wisdom on thes e sites, I wonder! If the money figures are true, they seem to make a few hundred quid a month. Not a bad weeks wage. although I've never found the golden formular for making a genuine living online other... Depression

could be worse Can't write anything on novel as I'm far too down in the dumps. what is despresion? I'm locked in an awful life, that I can't face up to. I should be counting my blessings, as I got out of the factory, and even the debts look like being kept under control. But I just hate my life. When will it end? It just goes on and on. Maybe I will never get out of this. I once had my fortune told by Tarot, and I could see it in her face that the reader said my biggest problem was depresion. I... Sign in to see full entry.

Giving it all away

I read in the Indie' that many first time writers put 100% of their novels on Blogs before the publishers are interested in them. How much of that it true, I don't know! But what if their stuff is nicked? what if the sharks are trawling the web for fools, who are giving away all their secrets? Copyright is tough enough, and I'm doubtful about putting all my Novel on-line incase some one had it away. Of course it's very big headed of me to asume anyone will even read it, let alone think it's... Sign in to see full entry.

Ebay!

The sale of books on Ebay far outstrips anything on any other site! We sell a lot of books on amazon, ect, but they pale in comparrison to Ebay. If I was to work out a percentage, it's almost 10%. Bareing in mind, 2% is good for the others. If we were to follow that lead, with 6,000 books online, we could over a thousand pounds a week! Puts those silly MLM things into a cocked hat. Of course the files are compatable, so I'll have to type the damned details in all over again. But can't complain.... Sign in to see full entry.
