Fair Weel.
It's Fair week in Stamford. The first one goes back to 1180 and was a big deal around here. They even kept it open during the Civil war as it was the only source of income for the armies. Both armies. I have mixed memories of visiting the fair. Loved it as a little kid, but it frightened me the older I got. the rides were too fast and I did not like having my inside shaken up. Loved the smells of diesel oil, candy floss and toffee apples. Sign in to see full entry.
