"When You Miss Me Look At The Water"

This is the FOURTH panel out of eleven. The last picture features Clark, kissing his baby girl. How fast they grow! She is now a junior in college. Photo by Jay Carey. God blessed our union with a beautiful daughter, prior to my illness. Life has been far richer because of her. Clark had a daughter, too. He e-mailed this poem to her two weeks before he passed. She read it at his funeral service. I find such peace in the reflective tranquility of the still waters. I pray for peace in all of your... Sign in to see full entry.

A Good Woman Is . . .

A good woman is proud of herself. She respects herself and others. She is aware of who she is. She neither seeks definition from the person she is with, nor does she expect them to read her mind. She is quite capable of articulating her needs. A good woman is hopeful. She is strong enough to make all her dreams come true. She knows love, therefore she gives love. She recognizes that her love has great value and must be reciprocated. If her love is taken for granted, it soon disappears. A good... Sign in to see full entry.

"When You Miss Me Take A Deep Breath"

This is the THIRD panel out of 11 that I created using my husband's fabulous photography, Photoshop and some iMac magic. The picture to the right, taken in 1992, shows myself (as a brunette), my husband and his brother, Clark, who passed over March 14, 2004. Clark sent this poem to his daughter 2 weeks prior to his death. We always wondered if he had any inkling of events to come? I have heard that when you are thinking of someone who has passed over, and you may feel a sensation, very softly,... Sign in to see full entry.

"When You MIss Me Look Into The Night"

This is Part 2 of 11 of a poetry series I dedicated to the spirit of my late beloved Brother-In-Law, Clark. He sent this poem to his teenaged daughter, Jamie, two weeks before he passed over. This composite photo takes 3 transpositions to achieve. The base is formed from a slide Jay took of an old-fashioned fence post from our farm, time of day, sunset. The second frame transposes an angel, which is actually a large statue in an art museum perhaps in Barcelona, and the third frame I added... Sign in to see full entry.

"When You Miss Me, Look Into The Sky..."

Two weeks before Clark died, he mailed his daughter a poem. It was entitled, When You Miss Me. I posted it several days ago in its entirety. This is Part ONE of eleven. I used my husband's (Clark's brother), photographs from as early as this one, taken during the fall of 1971. This was taken on a path the cattle made in our pasture. (We called them a cowpath). I composited several of his pictures to come up with the panels to put together a tribute to my beloved brother-in-law. Sign in to see full entry.

The Ant and the Contact: Urban Legend?

Origins: This piece about an ant's fortuitously retrieving a mountain climber's lost contact lens is a charming enough parable about the concept that the Lord may sometimes call upon us to bear burdens Ant for reasons we do not understand (but which ultimately prove beneficial to ourselves or to others), although its circulation on the Internet has resulted in a widespread misattribution. Josh and Karen Zarandona are not the authors of this item; they're merely two people whose names became... Sign in to see full entry.

When You Miss Me

My brother-in-law- was sick with Hepatitus C. He'd been in and out of hospitals the last 6 years. The final time he entered the hospital was to have a shunt surgically implanted to take the pressure off his vein for dialysis. The hepatitus had attacked and destroyed both of his kidneys. While in the hospital, he contracted a blood infection, suffered a stroke and finally cardiac arrest. He was suffering so badly the family was not allowed to see him. He went "home" at age 48. Two weeks prior to... Sign in to see full entry.

Powerful Forces

I made this is class yesterday; Stephanie and I made a mega-mother - daughter day of it yesterday and went to TWO stamping and card workshops, ate lunch at a Chinese restaurant but there was something gluten in the rice, and we were too broke and too fat to shop very much so we went to a movie, Firewall, with Harrison Ford. Came home and ate leftover lasagna she had made me for my birthday and leftover lemon meringue pie that my neighbor brought me from our church bake sale, the Jayhawks won... Love

Love: Bears all things... Believes... Hopes... Endures... Love never ends. 1 Corinthians 13: 7-8 This is something life has taught me that I couldn't have possibly begun to explain to Rev. Greenslade in my 6th grade communicants class. I am just now beginning to understand it, the depth of it. Love. "In your love, I will learn my wings to fly." Sign in to see full entry.

"Even Rocks Pray" = Urban Legend

Yes, I received this e-mail as being the real deal, a natural rock sculpture, but it is the work of an artist. Sorry to burst any bubbles, but here's what the urban legend's site had to say: (It is still a nice concept.) Even Rocks Pray This is unbelievable. Click to Enlarge This is AWESOME! Tilt your head to the left to see the picture. You will be amazed at what you see. Comments: Several people have forwarded this image for debunking, though I'm not sure why. On close examination it is... Sign in to see full entry.

You Can Only Be You

Much of my communication with Mike had been through music and the lyrics. It was a common link or thread. We both had voices that blended beautifully when we sang. We had sounded like honey to the ear back in the day. He played guitar and I played piano. He sang tenor to my soprano. I had written in a blog once that we had formed a group for a whole four days. It was two guy guitar players and a girl singer. We sang some songs for the NFO Farmers Meeting. My mother was put in charge of... Sign in to see full entry.

The Face of Christ

This is supposed to show a drawing of Christ's face. I tried this once before and nothing showed up. It did show on the two "edit formats" but not in the finished "Read." hmmm...... One more chance...... Sign in to see full entry.

Read It, Carole

Mike had surprised me with a three page “thinker” e-mail last week, explaining why he felt we had written pages and pages about closure since October 21. He explained how he couldn’t build his love for his wife if I was blocking his road. We had to say goodbye once and for all. He was building a “New Mike” and he was happy. He was going to be bold in his new job which was perfect for the “New Mike.” Early on in his letter, he accredited ME with helping him become the “New Mike” and as he got... Page Eight

Mike referred me to read p. 9 in Conversations with God book 3. He talked about being the Who I Am God wanted him to be and he referred to the Divine Dichotomy. We had a saying between us that when we wanted to emphasize something, we would say, "Read it, Mike." This time he said, "Read it, Carole." I read it. But I liked the passion from page eight. I knew God said it to Walsch, but I liked it so much, I felt I could have said it to Mike. Here are the contents of Page Eight: Walsch has implied... Sign in to see full entry.

I will learn my wings to fly

"In your love I will learn my wings to fly" These words, from Kem’s song, “You Are,” may take liberty with standard English. I think he wrote it that way deliberately because it conveys more than the conventional usage of the language, “I will teach you how to fly.” Let me see if I can explain. I’m reminded of the unique lilt of a little woman from the Ozark mountains in Arkansas when I hear, ”I will learn you.” She spoke in words different from anything I’d ever heard. I always felt they... Sign in to see full entry.

becoming who i am

I've done a little "astral" traveling the past 3 days, getting my new wings on straight, taking the leap and rediscovering the "who i am." I created a panel in honor of all the souls who accompanied me on my journey these past couple of weeks, who have been reading my various and sundry blogs, giving me pats on the back and words of encouragement that they knew and my hurting would be over someday. I made new friends here, who know firsthand what it is to survive a broken heart, to have their... Sign in to see full entry.

"Building Her Wings"

She designed a life she loved She took the leap and built her wings on the way down She said bye-bye to unhealthy relationships She remained true to herself I am sharing my "voice" in yet a different expression. I am just an amateur, and expressing my outlook on life with this more visual media. I discovered a poster with nine sentiments I fell in love with. They expressed what I was striving for. My sharing will attempt to give credit where credit is due. I shared the nine sentiments with a... Sign in to see full entry.

Looking At the World

She was an artist and her life was a canvas She ran ahead where there was no paths She crossed borders recklessly, refusing to recognize limits, saying bonjour and buon giorno as if she owned both France and Italy and the day itself She held her head high and looked the world straight in the eye I am sharing my "voice" in yet a different expression. I am just an amateur, and expressing my outlook on life with this more visual media. I discovered a poster with nine sentiments I fell in love with.... Sign in to see full entry.
