I will learn my wings to fly
"In your love I will learn my wings to fly" These words, from Kem’s song, “You Are,” may take liberty with standard English. I think he wrote it that way deliberately because it conveys more than the conventional usage of the language, “I will teach you how to fly.” Let me see if I can explain. I’m reminded of the unique lilt of a little woman from the Ozark mountains in Arkansas when I hear, ”I will learn you.” She spoke in words different from anything I’d ever heard.
