Beautiful Sadness

Things from the darkness, they recede as the sunlight spills over the bay. It's the night that bears truth that instigates fear and opposition and the mares that trample their black velvet hooves upon an embellished landscape deep in your mind, as you lay sleeping. The dawn chases them down and a rider dismounts and strides across the ocean to the shore of my waking horizon. A beautiful sadness filled her heart then, when she thought of it all a place she had come to know so well inside her... Sign in to see full entry.

Repost of an exsmoker

November 1st 2004 I quit smoking cigarettes after 17 years. I felt this may help someone out there! There are times when I cannot express what is in my mind into words. I could paint a darkened picture or an intricate web and I could learn what hides beneath the shadows. Better yet, I may be able to see beyond them and make my way up the stairway to temporary sanity, if I only was not tempted to stop in the mist filled recesses along the way. My voice reverberates throughout this place and... Sign in to see full entry.

Winter Sun

Winter Sun New life has begun Twisting and turning within Beautiful gladness Has transformed the sadness That once walked the halls deep within A positive conclusion To a petrified illusion Learning the lesson once more Silence now broken Winter sunlight so golden Shines warmth and light on my soul. Waitress Dance

I got bent out of shape because of a repeat nontipping offender, but this time not only was she rude she was insulting as well. Ah, the joy of waitressing. Quarters nickles dimes galore sticky straw wrappers on the floor will you wait on me nevermore? I don't know what I was waiting for as that one ran out the door Dirty dishes dirty hands back now to the waitress dance. Sign in to see full entry.

Until Next Time

A desperate anger dances on her lips as she tries to reclaim something that was never hers never welcome something lost long ago. Hot blood runs quicker now insane with questions and then, abruptly, she leaves and I am guilty once more of being on the verge of not really caring. Silence allows me to hear the answers to still the beating pulse of betrayal and regret to reclaim my essence once more. Until next time. Sign in to see full entry.

Gardens of Sorrow

Gardens of Sorrow Anger – Pain – Frustration Earth mother - take them Down into the roots Past the sediment and Layers of my own anguish Let the birds call again As the butterflies dance in silence Let the buds sprout As the sun shines behind the gray screen of clouds The problems of mankind and technology are, For the moment, Left behind in a house of brick and regret In the gardens of sorrow we all tend these plants No matter who we are Rage – Denial – Betrayal – Loneliness Earth Mother take... Common Places

She stares out of the most common places. She continually bolsters my faith and constantly reminds me that everything is going to be fine. A shadow in the dark now becomes and encouraging and impressive entity. She helps me to prioritize. Swallowtails and stargazers find their way home on her breath and what has come to fruition will now die. A pattern from long ago appears as a vivid and perplexing memory and the darkness then consumes it. Sign in to see full entry.

Blatant Anxiety

Trickling down falling over like proverbial dominoes racing to meet deadlines time shortened by hours and days blatantly stating the facts anxiety filling my chest tears are sure to appear but not tonight not tonight. Sign in to see full entry.

Dark Echoes

Dark Echoes Echoing in my head, shadows of a former reality coming in dreams in shades of black. The past reveals itself vividly there, in the night. You know of what I speak. A distant whisper frequently speaks in a tone imprinted within. Power rises and challenges her, but she resigns. Something oppressive here, in this dark place of regret. Time becomes the enemy, the aggressor, the incubator. Words arrive frantically, "Hurry, time is not on your side." Time is used to organize our cycles but... Sign in to see full entry.

The Crone Season / Appointment with Winter

Falling like leaves are the papers, ideas, hopes and dreams. Falling to the earth after a long ride on Halloween night A loud thump as her body hits the ragged face of the earth It splits open and memories flood out like an over swollen river down past the pebbles and broken glass, eventually making their way home to the sea. A winged lady, a creature of both fur and feather now stands before me. Some of you already know her name. Autumn breezes have bred and borne her, the chilly crone appears....
