~Happy New Year 2009~

I am the 37 year old Scorpio mother and wife, I have a teenager, a tween, and an infant. I have been writing for literally as long as I can remember, and my husband tells me I am a better writer than I am an artist. We'll see how that pans out, hopefully with the glorious union of the two. I am seriously multi-talented and love to engage in crafts as well as arts as well as music and anything outdoors. Of course, I love writing, and hope to do a whole lot of it here!

Much of what I love entwines itself in my words, as well as much of what haunts me. I hope to find those who like to explore both the shadows and the light, from whatever spiritual path they are on.

I do have a myspace page and a website, linked to other areas of my interests!  www.ladypegasus.com

A bit about the name I use here, "phantomqueen" - and why I love writing about her.

The Phantom Queen is one of the many names of the Celtic goddess who was/is known as the Morrigan.  She is the watcher of the battles of men, the instigator of warriors, she is the supreme spirit of justice and bare primal energy.  She is hard to describe as my muse, she is a powerful entity that I have aligned with inside of my mind, a voice down a dark corridor that echoes the truth back to me, for the most part.  Far be it for me to understand what the truth of every situation is - so this direct line has proven very helpful to me in ways I cannot begin to measure.

Association with her is chosen by her, she has linked together many instances in my life to show me she has always been there...and continues to create newer more spectacular clues of her existance.  I am merely a vehicle for messages, both to me and of course to those who read what I write, and sometimes I am all but helpless to keep up with what she is saying...she is no mere phantasm, or ghost, so I think phantom is something much different, in her case - perhaps, the great and powerful presence of an energy that once walked the earth.

Encyclopedia Mythica states that the Morrigan is a goddess of battle, strife, and fertility. Her name translates as either "Great Queen" or "Phantom Queen," and both epithets are entirely appropriate for her. The Morrigan appears as both a single goddess and a trio of goddesses. The other deities who form the trio are Badb ("Crow"), and either Macha (also connotes "Crow") or Nemain ("Frenzy"). The Morrigan frequently appears in the ornithological guise of a hooded crow. She is one of the Tuatha Dé Danann ("Tribe of the goddess Danu") and she helped defeat the Firbolg at the First Battle of Mag Tuireadh and the Fomorians at the Second Battle of Mag Tuireadh.

Why has she chosen me?  I have the most bizarre conclusions and answers for myself, but sharing them here would do them no justice whatsoever.  So I continue to share them in a way that I believe helps me transform by listening and even if totally misunderstood. I still love to write what I "hear" and "feel" from this incredible "being/spirit/force", her influence, even just the associations with her; black dogs, ravens, crows, hooded women, queens of great power, warrioresses - all of this has drastically taken my dull and boring existance to a place where I am perpetually inspired.  She has brought nothing but blessings and necessary chaos into my life to help me re-order what it is I think I was brought here to do.

I have read that when you study another person, one whose qualities you a particularly admiring, one whose life fascinated you, you take on some of that greatness, you can integrate yourself with Beethoven or Stephen King by studying, reading, listening to the art they possess and have shared so greatly with the world.

I am indeed gifted with my own brands of talents, as are we all!  We all need a powerful muse!  I LOVE MINE!!!  I want you to love yours, too! :)

Thank you so much for reading here,

Gratefully
