Computers and Puppy Tales

Well, I was finally in the mood to start blogging again and then our computer died on us. A computer we have had for a year and a half has been in for problems 3 times! So, the good news....they gave us a brand new computer! The bad news...I have been off blogit for a whole 2 weeks when I was in the mood to blog. Anyway, I know there are worse problems. Writing History Books for Young Ones

I don't know much about writing books.... how to find information that is valid, how to submit them, form, bibliography information etc....I have always let that stop me. But I don't want to let my own fears and lack of knowledge hold me back any longer. I have this desire to write history books for preschoolers. Most history books start for ages 6 or 7. Long Day for Pup and Us

A long day, with unexpected happenings. A brand new puppy, lethargic and restless and obviously in pain this morning, a 3 hour stay at the Vet's office, 95 degree weather, a trip to the Pet Supplies store for a different kind of puppy formula, a stop at Walgreen's for Pedialyte (for the puppy), and then home. We are in love with our little guy. His sickness caused by leaving his mama too early. I knew it, had the feeling, verbalized it, but the owner insisted on getting rid of these pups too... Another Day

It is another day. I am trying to get back into the swing of writing. For some reason, it is so hard! What do all of you write about? Where do you come up with ideas? I have always wanted to write cute little history books for preschoolers...you know, rhymes and stuff about Abraham Lincoln and his hats, or about Paul Revere and the midnight ride, or the shot heard around the world. Summer and a New Pup

It is officially summer! Boy is it hot...and we love it! Finally, the sun has come out, the air conditioner is on, the kids are in the pool and everyone is sweating! What could be better? Well, there IS one thing that could be better...our new puppy. Unbelievable. I never wanted a dog but this little guy fell right in our laps. A woman at church was given a stray Schitzu and when she took it to the Vet, found out it was pregnant with five pups. My husband and I thought about it, talked about it,... Getting Through Summer

Just can't get myself to write lately. I feel guilty about it, especially after paying to be on this site. But I've just been blah. And trying to catch up on things around the house, winding down on homeschooling, scheduling the summer activities. I've also had extra hours at work. Its hard for me to write when I am physically and emotionally drained. I'm hoping that things settle into some kind of summer routine soon. Gone...and Back

I have been gone for quite a while. Not blogging, not reading. Not sure why I get into these retreat modes. And not only with blogit, but with many other things in my life. Things have been overwhelming, I guess. I am feeling like my life is so fragmented. A little of this, a little of that, an hour of this and a few minutes of that.....It gets hard. Friendship

Oh I am soooo not in the mood for Science tonight but the neighbor, who also has five children, is down sick with the flu...yes, the real thing. Influenza. Her two boys also have it. Things are just crazy there. On top of everything, their freezer and refrig are broken. How one feeds five children with no food in the house is beyond me. I asked her. She said, "Poptarts and Pasta." Anyway, her 2nd grader has a Science Fair project due on Monday and is using my daughter's parakeets. Finding out... Sign in to see full entry.

My Mom

Every Mother's Day, I try not to cry when I hug my mother. I fail every time. Every time we reach the month of May, it is a milestone for mom. This year marks 10 years of mom being cancer free. In May of 1999, she had tumors throughout her entire body. From her skull to the big bones in her legs. She was given only weeks to live. But the "man upstairs" had another plan. After intense chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant that year, mom has been cancer free for 10 years. It was a beautiful... Sign in to see full entry.

About this Blog

My life often seems like a fragmented piece of fabric, all jumbled and mixed up. And yet, I realize that is because there are so many things that are important to me. Love for my kids, my desire to write, my "obsession" with the unexplainable and the sentimental, my desire to take "the road less traveled". All of these are threads of my life, each beautiful and simple in its own way. And all together, they make up the fabric of who I was, who I am and who I am becoming.
