Oh, You Pious Ones

Oh, You Pious Ones I come to life's buffet, A beggar, with ravenous hunger; A patientless guest at the banquet Of Life and Truth. Oh, you pious ones, Pray over this meal! For myself, “Let my taste buds say my prayer.” Let my stomach say, “Amen.” Oh proper guests Shine forth in your properness. Let me eat! If you are not bringing the latest warm dish, Do not bother my communion with The One. I have come to eat and be satisfied! © 2008 Shamsuddin Sign in to see full entry.
