Fighting Temerarire
A poll on the BBC Radio 4 programme has just voted a painting by JMW Turner the greatest painting in Britain. It features the Temeraire being towed from Sheerness to Rotherhithe on the River Thames in 1835 to its final destination at the breaker's yard where it would be stripped and scrapped....
