Today is Tanit Ester the fast of Ester
and we are fasting to commemorate the Persian Queen who made a great personal sacrifice for her people. She was Jewish and the Migillat Ester (book of Ester) tells her story and that of her uncle and as well her husband Mordechai in Persia many centuries hence. She saved the Jews of Persia when a wicked vizer or advisor Haman tried to destroy or eradicate them. Hitler was a modern day version of Haman.
