I never thought I would get them. Age spots, that is. Slowly but surely over the last year, they have crept up on me. Don't know how or why. My sister Roma, three years older than me, got an age spot on her left cheek a couple of years ago. I wondered why she didn't do something for it to go away.... Sign in to see full entry.

A Walk
Yesterday, I went for a morning walk. I just did it. I got the idea, put on my walking shoes and left through the front door and gate. I took a right on the street that runs in front of the house, a left at the first turn and all the way down. I then chose to walk through a wooded area (instead of... Sign in to see full entry.

Update on the heart attack
Well the worst is over. My brother in law had a bypass on Tuesday and yesterday was able to meet the family. He is reported to be in good spirits, joking, laughing and being his usual self. It's a relief. Over the lest few days, the days have been long and a lot of driving between their home and... Sign in to see full entry.

The Obama Victory
Sitting here, thousands of miles away, I felt I was back in the US. Watching the voting in various states on TV and the final victory speech, I do not believe that anyone, anywhere in the world, would not have been moved. The mood and form of what was happening in America was infectious and felt... Sign in to see full entry.

Still Life in Afghanistan
There is something about still life, in and outside photographs, that grabs me. I took this photo in Kabul in May, 2006 spending a great deal of time at this table, which was on the verandah of the house I shared with five other people. I used to pick the flowers wild and grasses from the garden,... Sign in to see full entry.

Leonard Cohen, in my home
This afternoon Leonard Cohen was in my home. My husband was flipping the TV channels and all of a sudden I saw Leonard Cohen on the screen. Wait, I screamed. Soon, I realised that it was a documentary. It was a fabulous one. It took me back to his music - which I am playing now as I write this.... Sign in to see full entry.

Healing ourselves and others
Still nursing my tooth abscess, I went to attend a TAT workshop. That stands for Tapas Acupressure Technique. Do you know about it? Apparently it has been propagated by a woman named Tapas Flemming, who was recovering from the death of her twins, and her own poor health due to the pregnancy and the... Sign in to see full entry.

A Matter of Teeth
Oh me, oh my. I have a major tooth issue. Or is it teeth? I am not sure of the singularity or plurality of the situation but here it is. One tooth chipped two weeks ago, while I snacked with my friend Ragini. I went to the dentist. He took an imprint and said he needed to cap it. We made an... Sign in to see full entry.
