Life is Better with Baby Steps
My sister gave me an Anthony Robbins cd booklet called Power Talk! She has given me a large shoe box, full in two layers of his tapes, too. This one is to get me out of a depression and moving again. I listened to him while I drove yesterday. I am taking baby steps 'constantly and neverendingly improving' as he pushes. Anyway, Three, ThreeDays of not Smoking!! I hadn't noticed any difference until I went to bed last night without reaching for air and awoke this a.m. without doing it either. So,...

Door Banging, Guns and Small Miracles
My days and nights are all turned around. Last night, I went to bed at 6 a.m. and didn’t get up until 2 p.m. today. That is too far off a normal day’s schedule, so, I’m going to bed at midnight tonight to see if I can be a regular person again. Major coincidence today from a tale that I wrote few posts ago, about someone banging against my door one night about a week ago and then the police gathering all over the street out front, helicopters overhead. My retired teacher girlfriend called from...

Some photos of my work, if the HTML is right!!
I had to make the photos so small to upload to villagephotos.com, that they are now all fuzzy, but, I can't complain when the hosting is free, now can I? So, if I did this correctly, ahem, please diosito, there should be six photos of some of the variety of angels that I make in clay. A ver. Might have to come back and try again.....sigh. These four are coyotes, two are pueblo designed, one is Sioux and one has roses on her dress. Their whiskers are made of horsetail. This shows a small variety...

I'm picking out a grocery cart and mentally packing...........
When Fall comes, I bring in the plants for the winter, exchange clothing in the shed from summer clothing packages to winter, turn on the gas heater, close windows, put on long underwear and bring out the doggie blankets to cover up the pooches while they slumber on the futon. I keep this house cold because I cannot afford warm. I keep my fingers warm in the cold clay all winter by wearing wool caps on my head and wool scarves around my neck, the heat radiates out to my pinkies then. The economy...

I've Revived An Old SPAM Email Blog and changed it.......
beachbelle found me, that woman is everywhere, reading everything! I don't know how she does it. She found a new blog that I started yesterday and told me to direct you to it. I thought about not doing that, keeping it hidden and then said, "What the heck!" It is called Grandma Embedded in America. You might go check it out. Don't get upset about this other, hippie and poverty stricken and opinionated side of your old Abuelita. Sometimes, I just can't keep my self to myself.

I Can't Sleep and Am Drinking a Beer, omigosh!!!
It is 2:46 a.m. There are four dogs in the house and I still can't close my eyes. Earlier this evening, someone hit my front door with their shoulder, I think, really hard, the house shook and the dogs inside, two at that time, began to bark. Harry Potter was on t.v. and something noisy was happening in the film and I couldn't hear very well. I sat at my work table and kept painting, unable to process the event. Two minutes later four police cars stopped in front of my house and a helicopter...

Just thinking and hearing Whirled Peas
I had read last month that there was a movement in Guyana (old British Guiana, South America) to become another of the United States of North America. Today on the news there was another story about some Peruvians who wish to promote the same thing, not Guyana’s place as 51 st state, but their own and then Guyana’s as 52 nd American state, I’m assuming. So, I am encouraged by these foolish people, to think that we are still not so bad, some want to join us still in forming a more perfect union,...

What I Believe, I think, yeah, what I believe.............
I have set out on a reading regimen, reading the words of writers whose words stand the test of time and could have been written yesterday, though they were set down on paper decades or even centuries ago. This morning I read E.M. Forester’s essay, " What I Believe ". He was born in 1879 and you would think that his old words would have no connection with a 'modern-techno' world and you'd be wrong. I found that I believe what he does, did. Here's how he opens the essay. "I do not believe in...

Rain and hail and toys and songs and candles, my life
Dear Gentle Readers, this is just a quick note to let you know that I am still breathing, though long absences may cause you to think that I might have succombed, gone into that gentle night. I know that I am still alive and kicking because I yelled at the news reporter, local news, who introduced her next story by saying that the military had a new 'toy' and we should wait until after the commercial break for that story. Toy!!!??!! I was so upset, that a reporter would use the word 'toy' when...
