Don't Cry because it's over, Smile because it happened. Oh, sure.

I just returned from about four days with my grandchildren in Florida. It was low key and sweet and over too soon. I teared up on the take off at the airport and got over it, but........sure would have liked to have stayed awhile longer. I received lots of hugs and gentle care, gave them my silly gifts and then we began to do artwork. Brandon painted a 9" by 11" canvas board painting of a ferret from the back cover of his Ranger Rick magazine. Lexus painted a 9" by 11" painting of her hamster,... Sign in to see full entry.

What a terrible suitcase packing job. I have to redo now.

I did not put the kitchen sink in there, but almost. At first, it was going to be streamlined, one suitcase, then, well, two. Now it's a carry on and the huge purse that used to be a diaper bag. OOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Time to rethink this whole travel and activity thing. I have two days to unpack and make it just one suitcase, I hope. I could roll all clothing as they suggest. Hmmmmmmm It's the paints and brushes and snacks and gifts, though, that fill the darned suitcases. Sign in to see full entry.

Obesessing upon Spanish music all day yesterday and today.

When this fellow was a young soccer player, he began to become known for his singing. I was mad about him when he first began and was not corrupted by it all. Here he is in all his splendor, singing a song called Un Canto a Galicia and the words are a mixture of Spanish and Portuguese and so beautiful. His video of his singing begins at about the 16th second of the song.....so wait.... Have I played it more than fifty times in the last twenty hours? Yes. Now, I have to go out to my car and get... I am so happy that today is today and not yesterday.

I heard the alarm go off at 5 a.m. and then headed out to Gabrielle Gifford's offices to see if there was any movement there. Nope, so I decided to go get some coffee to drink while eating my leftover Day of the Dead bread. I walked a neighborhood in that area of town leaving literature about polling places for that neighborhood and then drove over to the Democratic headquarters at about 7 a.m. They told me to await an assignment, so I ate Halloween candy and watched the news on t.v. there.... This is what I did out at Pima College this week.

Go HERE I put on a presentation out at our Community College, organized by Elva Flores of our Centro Cultural, built an altar for Day of the Dead, watched some lovely children dance Ballet Folklorico, gave them my camera for awhile, so some of these photos are theirs and not mine, ate some Day of the Dead bread (cut up in small cinnamony pieces for the uninitiated)and drank some hot 'atole' (hot chocolate). See photos........... The children all entered in a procession, I had decided, with... Sign in to see full entry.

Dozens Of Call Center Workers Walk Off Job In Protest Rather Than Read McCain Script Attacking Obama By Greg Sargent - October 27, 2008, 5:18PM Some three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents. Forrest Gump explains Mortgaged Backed Securities

Visualize a puzzled Forrest with a box of chocolates on his lap and speaking. "Mortgage Backed Securities are like boxes of chocolates. Criminals on Wall Street stole a few chocolates from the boxes and replaced them with turds. Their criminal buddies at Standard & Poors rated these boxes AAA Investment Grade chocolates. These boxes were then sold all over the world to investors. Eventually somebody bites into a turd and discovers the crime. Suddenly nobody trusts American chocolates anymore...
