My old Navajo sales trip companion called two days ago.

We have both been off that road ten years now. He has had a heart attack, developed diabetes, gotten gangrene and lost some toes and has endangered feet, wears a pacemaker and now is on thrice weekly dialysis. We had a total pity party for about ten minutes, down down down. Then we hit our old pace of joking Hell back underground. We talked about what we used to do, about how the heck we might do it ONE MORE TIME and what could go horrendously wrong. I laughed so hard, I cried. We are good for... Sign in to see full entry.

Done being a servant to my 3 mo. old granddaughter, Roxy.

I have grown fat just sitting and rocking her for two months, off and on. I have good calves now but the rest of me has widened. I made her a onesie Sunday. It says "Abuelita ROCKS and rocks and rocks " and it has glitter around the sleeves and is ready for a rave. The " i " of abuelita has a heart for a dot, of course. An African friend who hasn't seen me in a year or so visited today. She said, "You have grown fat!" I said, "Thank you, yes!" Her son drives her to the gym every morning five... I have a friend, Martina, who writes here as cripfemme and she is a pistol.

She is rallying, and parading and marching and picketing and taking seminars, and writing poetry and voicing her wild woman opinions and doing all of this with sometimes precarious health. She writes for many publications for small change, hoping that it will add up enough for her to buy a new t-shirt or some extra food. Her whole life is online for all to see and it is not what you expect. For someone confined and I mean confined to a wheelchair, she rocks and rolls and feels little pity for... To cool or not to cool, that is the question. Whether tis time to turn on

the swamp cooler or wait? Whether to leave it on at night or wait for a few more weeks and sweat some?? I leave it on all day for the dogs while I am out of the house and then turn it off when I get home as it is still too cold for me. But, right now, I am sweating and it is midnight. Darn!! Probably have to turn it back on. It is HOT here and now. I Love Arizona's temperatures, but get confused during the spring and fall. And tomorrow, I have to go and charge up my air conditioner in the car. I... Sign in to see full entry.

Bought a new overhead projector and cheating, painting preliminary

parts of canvases with greater ease. Can't stand for long, so I do a quick job of it, blocking in larger spaces then sitting and refining forever. I painted a little girl from our Wa:K Powwow that I photographed a few years back. What fun!! I have been invited to make canvases for two galleries and need to make money or I shall never get to Patzcuaro. A former employee, who painted my clay things for me has had a foot operation and cannot walk for about a year and was a cook at her family's... Sign in to see full entry.

A Baby Shower at my son's house for my other DIL and her new girl.

Roxy Ann got here about one month ago and we celebrated her arrival with a baby shower. It was late but better late than never. My daughter decorated the place in such lovely ways. She put clothes lines outside in the back garden hung with about ten or more little girl dresses and outfits and socks and hats. She hung mobiles everywhere and had butterflies, the theme, in every flower pot and on all things. She made real food and then nibble stuff. We had real lemonade with real lemons and too... The story that I told the maestros about drinking with my ex and his new

wife while visiting Guadalajara. Two fellows in 1975, at the bar that I was visiting, got wasted and one shouted, " It's just that, you don't love me. You don't love me!" Then he pulled a gun and put it to his best friend's head and asked, "Why don't you love me anymore??" His friend put his hands out and up and assured him that they were still best friend's, always had been and always would be. Both swayed pretty wildly upon their stools. "I do love you, you know that I love you, amigo!",... Sign in to see full entry.
