Yes,you must conceal the car keys. Wiley would know it was the right thing to do if things were normal. At least he has a loving atmosphere and home comfort to assist him.

As my Dad used to say. 'You never see the young birds feed the old ones.'

Kabu

I hope that little window provides all the fresh air of hope. But as I know my Wiley sir, he will one day come out a winner.

I'm so sorry to read this news Kabu.  Perhaps you could find a new place for the car keys (discreetly) so that there is no possibility of Wiley popping out to the car on his own.  It will be a mercy if he does forget about driving the car himself.  Our experience was that 'granny'(my partner's mother) very quickly made new realities for herself and forgot about her previous preoccupations, and we adapted to her changing perspectives .. not that it was always easy.   There will be good days and some not so good, I know you will do your utmost to keep Wiley happy.

However small but if it let's in fresh air and makes it easier to cope with the situation it's God sent.

Strange, isn't it, how we feel that without that silly square of

official documentation we actually do not exist. Good to see at least a bit of it is working. How long has it been since Wiley painted a bird house?

Dad was very attached to his driver's license even after he gave up his keys to his car.  It had his name on it and he loved his unusual name (Hursel Hubert Sanders) and he was proud of his photo.

That is good that he will still have a form of identification...In the US, you can go and get an ID card even if you're not driving. Sounds similar in Canada.
