- Go to Our Pat was sharing some of the things Granny said in her writing group
Those were the days, Kabu, when grannies could put the fear of God into you ... smile. Not that mine did; I adored my nanna. On the other hand, my grandma (the other one) who died when I was ten frightened the life out of me from beyond the grave... my parents put her old wardrobe into the room I shared with my two sisters, and it had all her stuff in it... I was sure she was coming back for it! lol

Yes I expect she could see you had a wandering eye, but at that time the good sense to just wink. Good old Gran.

Sometimes the way we all pick up on a theme here on Blogit
works almost like the writing group at The Center. One person's experience sets off memories in the next. Nice.

I called my grandma 'Gram' also. In the beginning it was 'Nonna;' 'Nana' in dialect, but over time all the grandkids changed it. Your Gram spoke wise words. But who listened in those times? LOL!

And I guess you were quite surprised when one day a stork showed up at your door...

I never got any advice from anyone on that subject except from my girlfriends who didn't know very much either.

Goodness! Sadly, for the most part, that's true. Especially now adays. I think I would have like your Granny Sarah.
