Re: Katray2
If you can, do look into retrofitting! It helps, can save lives, and will fix issues with outdated building codes. I hold my breath every time I am stuck at a red light under an overpass, and get ready to exit the car, just in case, as I have been in a car during earthquakes!

Re:
Thank you, RP.
Bad faultline/s there in Cali; be prepared! Many of us here are as far as in our homes, supplies, gas appliances secured, etc. but our building codes are woefully outdated and unsafe and thus create the probability of disaster. I don't like going into our downtown area at all or being underneath overpasses!

Re: Katray2
I've heard explosive sounds right before the waves of shaking started. Scary stuff! Thank you, WileyFriend..

We had one go off loudly here recently, rather than a 'shaking' it was more like the sound of dynamite underground. You can write all that so creatively methinks.

You really sank into the heart of this furious upheaval. Even a little tremor makes the heart beat faster. Sadly we all soon forget how precariously we flaunt our existence.
