Oh I am jealous. That sounds like an answer. I am still praying for a speedy and total recovery. Falls are so terrible.

we have a similar device
though the one I use is about 3 feet longer and more industrial in design, as it should be, because we use it to catch rattle snakes. My walking stick was hand made by an Indian friend of mine (Comanche, not East Indian), covered with soft white leather halfway down, then adorned with a Hawk feathers , rattlesnake hide, turquoise beads and snake rattles. The medicine bag attached to it contains herbs and assorted objects that I probably don't want to know the origin of, but all in all, I have never had an incident while walking with it through the 300 acres of our central Tx ranch. Wishing you a speedy recovery...Ray

Yes Kabu and very useful for picking out caterpillars or slugs or even the odd mouse. I don't have to tell Arthur but I have to set a trap in the greenhouse or they breed and it is not hygienic. You also need a light walking stick I had one giving to me, it belonged to an old lady and is as light as a feather. I thought I might need it in ten years time. You must approach these gardening jobs slowly, or be able to stand pain constantly. It will probably take a month before you are fit again to do heavy jobs. Like picking flowers.
Only kidding I know it is a damned nuisance.

After his hip replacement, my father has been using the aid on top of the photo. It has been a major benefit to him.

If that tool is going to prevent your back from getting worse before it gets better,
than why not. Best of wishes.

I know what you know about watching out about the shoulders...I had a frozen one once for a year and that was absolutely the worst I think this body has gone through. I'm glad you are't too bored, I know you love your garden so much...I'm such an inside snail it's not hard for me to be tied down and I really do sympathize even if I don't always sound like it with my suggestions!

Well, I have nothing but sympathy for your back troubles. I hope
it's better by the time the weather warms enough that you can get outside to play work.

Ha! Mama has one of those somewhere around here that I'll have to dig up and practice and we can invent thing to do with the grabber. Just think, if you had started sooner, you might have thought of that selfie-stick thing and made a bunch of $'s and you could be relaxing in the sand to help heal that soft tissue (we hope that's what it is!).....glad you're feeling better. Don't you have any good books? I just don't understand boredome with all the good books and movies in the world!
