Great post filled will strength and fortitude. I admire you. I am good with the mental but not the physical.

I say the same Kabu... my younger sister is just beginning her fight with this terrible but not always unbeatable disease. You are a good and positive role model and I know a number of women who have fought it, and won. God bless.

Great post!
Actually, there is great advice there for people with all kinds of scary health problems.
P.S. I really like the rock in the previous post.

Perhaps it will help others who may have to make a decision, Life is life and one has to squeeze it until the pips hurt , Well something like that, some just cannot hack it though. A pity such a fuss is made about boobs, but I suppose it makes money for some and envy for others when there really is no need.

I just didnt like the big to do about it, yes she saved her life at least for now but she can afford to have constructive surgery and make herself whole again

You were both right...
I feel you both made the right and the intellegent and thoughtful decision, and am glad that you are still here with us. That is one thing I can like about her, in addition to her large donations to charity and adopted children. Thanks for your kind words about my brother.

I too was very happy to know that she did that and particularly that she went public. That may cause many to do it who were afraid. I like her okay, her life is her own and not mine to judge. I like her father too. Be blessed friend. Stay well and stay happy.

Great Post!
She's a brave lady, for sure, and I respect her courage in going public about such a personal choice. Hopefully her message will reach others with the same decision to make, and provide them some encouragement.
Or, they could just read your awesome post...!

I really know nothing about her acting, and didn't care one whit about her and her collection of kids, but now I know she's a courageous lady who probably made a wise decision! And so are you, of course...

I thought it was wise of her as well, but I try not to know the family, political, and religious lives of those who entertain me, this way I can simply watch a movie, or listen to a song without the interference inside my brain of what this one did to his wife, and what that one did to their kids. I go so far as to avoid knowing what an actor or an actress, or a muscian's name is...I just want to fall into the movie, or the song...Their a strange bunch.

Yes, she is not one of my favorites either, but it was brave of her to not only have the surgery, but to announce it and talk about it as well, opening the door for others who may have been hesitant for any reason. Cancer is always a difficult topic for anyone to discuss for any reason, but it's a fact of life we must all be aware of . . .

Kabu...
I have to admit that when I heard the cancer diagnosis back in December/11, it shook me up, but life went on through successful surgery, a botched attempt at chemotherapy which did me more harm than good, but now I'm home and close to completely mobile...the pity parties I had in the hospital are over and done with, and life goes on, one day at a time.

I thought Ms. Jolie was a pretty good actress, but not my favorite
of them all. However I have admired what she does for children in the Third World and I thought it was brave of her to meet her health challenge face on. You're right about the word that chills -- it's always scared the bejebbers out of me. It's one of those nasty clusters of pain that also affects the mood, makes the patient depressed along with the pain. Survivors like you have an unbeatable spirit and a way of seeing the positive that is heartwarming. It does one good thing - it teaches us how to separate the BS and drama, the pity parties, from what's vital to life and important. Loved your post!!!

I too, admire her courage, Grandmummy...but I admire yours far more. You have risen above far more than most people ever could-or will. I love you.
