- Go to The Summer Olympics ... Cheering for a great London Show.
I am crazy about the Olympics! I DVR everything. I've been know to pull an all-nighter just so I don't miss anything. I also fear for the athletes. Let's pray everyone stays safe and the world can celebrate together.

Kabu, thanks for the lovely phone message.
The phone must have rung while I was blow-drying my hair.... Sorry I missed talking to you, but at least I got to hear your words. Hugs to you and Wiley. I hope he's doing okay with all he's had to deal with. Love you guys.

I am looking forward to the Olympics. I'm hoping that Michael Phelps, a Marylander, has a great showing.

I must admit, I'm not really all that into the Olympics as I once was, and I'm not really sure why. I can appreciate the athlete's skills and dedication, and the thrill of seeing the various countries compete. But I won't go out of my way to tune in. However, for these Olympics, I think the biggest fear will be their safety. I'd hate for anything "off the wall" to happen!

I hope they have wonderful weather and no idiots on the outskirts.
We've got enough of a fluff-up with folks in the US ticked off because they had the official uniforms a) with berets and 2) made in China. What did they want, sequins and feather boas?

I read that there was a rucus at Heathrow recently with all the spectators and atheletes trying to make a beeline for the games. Well I suppose London should be ready to accomodate the whole event so "Go London Go" from me too.

The trouble is Kabu everyone with a grievance thinks right, time to put pressure on the government the train drivers are are talking of strikes and the poor old soldiers back from the brink are now the new attendants. At least I suppose they will see the games. I expect we shall muddle through as usual and declare it a great success.

Very interesting, Dear Kabu..

I heard about some bizarre things the Chinese government did in preparation, like spray painting the lawns of parks and public buildings to make them really green, lol. Of course the environmentalists screamed loudly and it was pretty messy when rain fell...
I don't much get into watching sports, but did want to go to Atlanta years ago when the Olympics were held there but my plans fell through. And I was glad because of the tragic terror incident that did occur; geez, what a world!

I too wish them well, of course, and certainly hope there won't be any 'incidents.' I wish they'd start a bit later in the day than they do, though - like maybe around 1 pm their time, so that I'd get to watch more of the coverage...
