Our mid 94's are a bit warm too. Thanks for the planting tips.

Good for you! The "hot & thirsty" weather hasn't hit us here yet! ( not that I'm complaining! )

Well Kabu just think when you re-pot would I like to grow in this medium and if the answer is yes you will be OK. I would certainly make a compost heap all, that roughage around is the bee's knees for plants in containers mixed with a bit of good medium. Well I don't mean you or Wiley to scort around making compost can't you get a good load of dung and let it rot down,

That's my plan for today. Atleast it was until I got up and saw the rain clouds. I've got some plants that need to be repotted and a rose bush to plant.

I never start out planting the way your friend showed you, but by the end of day I do, and worse. I grab a frozen fruit bar when I cool off, it seems to speed up the process. The corn popped up today, still waiting for beats, carrots and beans as most of the squash has broken ground. I made a large area of thick soft sandy soil for my root veggies thinking they might grow bigger in that soft dirt...We'll see.

I love the hint you got on transplanting, I have always tried to leave as much dirt with transplanting as possible with heavy water! I think I will make an adjustment! The description of the night and the gnome's area sound so cool! I hope you can get a picture of it one day! sam

Sorry I haven’t stopped by in a couple of day – “life”. Anyhoo, seems like you’re enjoying spring and planting. “B” makes me wait until he’s sure the temperature isn’t going to drop to low at night. But this Sunday – we’re going to the nursery to get all our annual. Woo Hoo!

Sounds like you're having a great time! Just be careful with that water - don't drink too much of it undiluted! I never do, I've decided it isn't healthy...

A long cold drink for a transplanted Australian Rose...
Your gardner friend was right about treating the plants matter-of-factly. They used to do better for me when I ignored them. :)
