It's wonderful when when generations can honer and remember the lives of those who lived and died for freedom.

I enjoyed reading about this day. I recall having heard about it but was not sure what all went behind it.

It is sad when war defines, but it seems to be that way for many countries! I always think of the American Revolution when I read stories/posts such as yours! The bottom line is that it paved the way for freedom and that is what really matters for me! So, the lives were not lost in vain, but they can be celebrated for their sacrifice and the legacy they leave behind! sam

I think it's good to know the children remember this
and wear the medals, than the history fading away.

Thanks for the history lesson,
all freedom comes at great cost doesn't it. We should always remember and cherish those who lead the way for our future.

I know the story and the history behind it. They were truly brave men, who like the poem , walked into that valley of death and showed no fear. About my post today, I never wrote it as a petition for comments, or to put down how others comment. I was only trying to show how much more I have enjoyed Blogit as I have formed real and I hope lasting relationships, no matter how poorly I worded it, that was all I was trying to get at, and if I hurt your feelings I am truly sorry. That was certainly not my intent.

As I wrote yesterday Grandmummy, war brings good to NO creature...animal or human being. I will think of these boys with you.

Gallipoli was ill thought out, and those brave Aussies and New Zealanders did their very best under dreadful circumstances! By the way, I think here in Canada the battle of Vimy Ridge has a significance for Canada similar to the one Gallipoli has for Australia...

It's not just the Australians who celebrate the blood...
We all sing of victories and count coup, we all dance around the fire...
Even here in Middle America we know about Anzac and the bravery of those men. The story's been told in movies. Let us honor all the heroes, and do our best to keep the peace. :)

The loyalty appears very nice as it represents appreciation and sorrow for those who lost their lives and appreciation for there having joined hands to
become a force to be reckoned with if not that day. God Bless Australia this day.
