And it only seems like yesterday so far away what can I say only that I may wish to take your hand as I always planned  as long as it is still Saturday.

Trade ya Kabu. We are having a severe thunderstorm and expecting 1-1/2 inch hail. The thunder is so loud, Sneaky Pete (my cat) is hiding under the bed. My girl scouts and ! took ice skating lessons for a badge. Fell flat and cracked my head on the ice. The last thing I remembered was seeing stars - literally. Then I saw my girl scouts little faces staring at me and asking if I was okay. Once they found out I was okay, hysterical laughter followed!

I think it is the perfect time for you two to visit us. We have had our air conditioner on for two months.

Kabu

I loved this little 'look back' it reminded me so of my teens, except not nearly so fancy,  we did not have balls with very few exceptions. Balls occured maybe three times in a year. But I do remember all our dances. We never had enought ice to skate on but I fell through ice on a pond once because ours was thin as silk. Love your stories.

Kabu

Sounds like you had fun down under...LOL! And don't worry about not being able to skate - I can't either...

I have always wished I could waltz, Grandmummy.  There is a very famous dance school in Vienna where they will happily teach you to dance, for a fee of course.  But I wouldn't have cared about the money.

I want to go to Vienna...

I was never brave enough for ice skates, but I love to watch

them in the Olympics and trials. And you're right, it is a bit like dancing.

Ah, the good ole days! I remember skating as a youngster, too! We had a skating pond at the elementary school, the only school in town and one in the yard! I did okay following in the footsteps of my older brothers! But, you couldn't get me on a pair now because I think all I would end up doing is falling! LOL! We are having rain, rain, and more rain! I thought I was going to get lucky and turn the furnace for the year but it seems Mother Nature will have none of that plan! Stay snug and warm, it has to get better for all of us! sam
