Re: Many memories
Greenfields  I don't think those days will come again we have Walnuts trees near and I don't think I have ever seen a youngster searching for them as they fall.

Many memories
My two sisters, several young boys who lived in the yard and I made mud pies, climbed trees for berries, chased the cows and played with the dogs.  We swam in the pond, made up stories and played at cooking. It was SUCH fun!

I think I remember being hit with things bigger than a hoe...but then I'm old and my memory fails me so.

I forgot to add that I took a line drive off an opponent in college softball and broke it a second time! Actually since it was a mallet finger it tore it nearly off at the fingernail bed, but I did get it sewn back together and it was mallet new! lol sam

I remember the things from youth, too! Thankfully I was never hit with a hoe, but I was hit with a baseball thrown by an older brother and ended up with a mallet finger! Alas, the hazards of youthful madness! lol I think that older people who do not have family around do not care for holidays as well! sam

Speaking of holidays, C.C..
A week from tomorrow will be Labour Day already, and the kids around here will be going back to school...When I was a kid, the approach of Labour Day meant closing up our summer cottage and getting an uncle to move us back to the city....I hated leaving the cottage and my friends there who were closer to me than my city friends...(oops, sorry, this almost looks like a journal entry....)....

Oops! I can remember things I did years ago, better than five minutes ago.
