It depends on your definition of "active." Since the Top 100 is a list of the most popular blogs over a 7-day period, and since blogs that have not been updated within seven days rarely make the Top 100, I use seven days as the period that determines whether a blog is active, and don't worry about that occasional older blog included in the Top 100 ranking. It's been a while since I've described my methods in any kind of detail, so I'll probably devote a blog post to them in the near future. Thanks for your interest, and for letting me know it's time to do some explaining again.

How often does a post have to go up for the blog to be considered active?
