Now there´s an original thought. I think what you mean is spiritual purity, not the physical variety and I do believe that both sexes are equally good or bad. so, no test needed for either. Thanks so much for liking my poem.

I wouldn't know ... we don't test women here to see if they are virgins ...
and it is pretty much a given, in ALL countries, that the men are NOT virgins; even the ones giving their future brides and daughter's degrading virginity tests.  Trial by water and string, and trial by fire, my personal favorite - not.  If you believe statistics: 17.6 % of women in the United States have survived a completed or attempted rape. Of these, 21.6% were younger than age 12 when they were first raped, and 32.4% were between the ages of 12 and 17.  Even we, in the US, are not so pompous as to rape our daughters and then give them a virginity test.  We are, however, pompous enough to rape our children and women and slap the offender on the hand and send him packing.  There is no test for men - they are not accountable anywhere in the world for their "purity".

I believe virginity is an outmoded concept, created by men and institutions to control women.  The same men and institutions that want women to be virgins are those that ensure that women are not. Purity is something else.  The more we seek it, it elusdes us.  We need to think of being satisfied with imperfection......in all forms, including bloggers.  Yes?!

hmmm....that's a good question to ask...but where I live....I'd have to agree with sunnybeach, there is no "I want innocence!" anymore...it's more like "Okay, where's the sex?"  Awful awful.  Good poem to get you thinking!!

Well, here it has never been an issue. Men have always been "in control" of everything.

Since long ago, women were meant as possessions, not as people.  I'm not sure how things are where you are.

Times are changing. Men no longer care...especially the very young....they want whoever will put out.

my fine friend, i am not in the position to classify this issue...i only believe 'purity' of both sex can be classified by the 'sincerity and truthfulness' of their hearts. Both genders. or not? you stir me up again my great friend.
