Thanks for the kind words, Holly
If I ever manage to finish getting caught up on the most recent comments I've received, I do plan on visiting you and other relatively new bloggers who have been kind enough to visit with me.

Good story, mneme
Under the same circumstances, if he couldn't have a puppy, my son probably would have wanted a lizard.  Since he was an only child, we did indulge him when it came to pets.  He bought an iguana with his own money during his early teens and raised it till it was over three feet long.  That was an awful lot of lizard to share a house with.

Thanks poet.. that made me chuckle.  Let me tell you a little anecdote.. when my sister was  pregnant with her third child, her four-year-old daughter wanted a baby sister, and her two-year-old son wanted.... a monkey.

A tad rude, but funny none the less.
