I love homemade fruit jams. Talking about basil. Have you ever made basil jelly. It is so good and so beautiful. I make purple basil jelly and color just enough to look like amethyst and the green or sweet basil i do light wonderful emerald green and serve them together with goat cheese or Champagne flavored cream cheese. It makes a lovely appetizer. I made yellow squash relish today.

I make my own cards, but I don't make my own gifts. I do enjoy customizing and over-decorating the packaging of the gifts I do give.

It's great that you make gifts
it's more meaningful than store bought stuff - even if you can afford it. I make jams (this is the main fruit season in north India) - peach, apricot and plum. I also make pesto rather regulalry, having a good stock of basil in my garden. I like the idea that you are beginning now. Marvellous.
