Oh Afzal, this blog touched my heart. For yes, I have been duped many a times...so many I cannot begin to remember, because I don't want to, that simple. I want to 'trust' ~ I want to trust --- until there is a full proof reason not to trust. I hope and pray that your feelings will get over the hurt of being "duped" --- it's a busy world out there and many, many types of people. God bless you Afzal ~

it sounds like you are really burned out with people letting you down. As a therapist I would say its important to ask yourself: what image am I projecting that the other thinks I am a good subject for deception? An important first step in avoiding being deceived (not fool proof, but a beginning) is to have kind of a boundary by not letting people too quickly into your life. And, by a series of questions trying to cross check what they say and do. I think people deceive beacuse that's what they know best to do. If they knew another to navigate themsleves in the world, they would use it.

Many people don't trust, sweetie. Once they are hurt, they never trust again.
I know it is painful sometimes, but without risk, you can never feel the beauty of true love.
Some things are worth the risk.

Oh yes, then the dagger pierced like a supercilious stick pin. Keep moving on and looking up. Find it and fix it and feel good! Have a great day Afzal! sam

Comes with the trust territory
unfortunately. But be happy that the mirror does not lie to you, and smile in the face of darkness that lies behind.

We look for the best in people and so by extension we trust them. It's a shame when they violate that trust.

So very true!
Too bad we eventually have to trust someone. The sad thing is, it's those we
care about the most who hurts us. Think about it! People we don't know, we
forget about it when they dupe us, but those we love, when they dupe us, we
hurt for a long time. Especially in childhood, we grow up carrying that hurt and
it becomes a part of us. Great post.

I'm afraid my dear Afzal this is the risk we take every time we trust
a stranger but trust we must - there is no other way; sometimes if we get burnt too often we can become a little insensitive but never immune; take care and God bless my friend

Hey, all of us have. We all still do - but the reason we always trust is because we hope to find the ones that will not "dupe" us. For when we do, we make a special bond that can potentially last forever. Trusting a stranger is not bad, nor is it naive to do so, it is just something innately built into our system to create a fortress of true friends that will defend you when you meet the ones that try to deceive you. I have met a lot of people in my life, but I can safely say, I have only 7 close friends. Friends I would easily give my life to defend back. Life is all about climbing over walls and seeing what's beyond it...it can be good and it can be bad and the only ones to pull you through that section is the few true friends of your life.
