I usually suffer the same fate.  Most individual posts draw only a few clicks.  The effect is cumulative over several days as far as the ratings are concerned, so it pays to post daily.  But often daily posting is just not possible for one reason or another.  Because of that I have to live with the fact that every time I'm note around for more than a day or two, my rankings are going to head for the cellar with great rapidity.

I use the page views on the "Write" page as a rough guide since many bloggers read without commenting.  It's not perfect because I tend to prefer having a lot of posts on each page to encourage those new to my blogs to read as many posts as possible.  As a result, several posts on the same page may be read and still count as only one page view.  But when the page views don't increase on a given day it always means no clicks.

How do you determine the number of readers. I only

know to check comments. I don't think I've been

discovered yet either. I'm like an Ostrich with

my head in the ground, waiting for pennies to

fall on me.
