I believe that there are many things being played out at Nandigram, and that political parties and unions are not working in the best interests of local people. Just being against capitalism and progress is not enough. Viable solutions are the goal. That's the reason that for almost three decades capital and companies moved out of West Bengal - due to the left and the Nazal movement. I lived in West Bengal in those years. It was a nightmare. I was also in Nadigram last November when the first protest started. I believe in justice and rights of poor people, but not when it will harm them in the long run. I don't believe the left parties or other social movements who have appeared in Nandigram are helping the locals. It's about something else.
