I don't think keeping quiet when you need to speak up is a good idea. It depends on the situation. My feeling that is that far too many people keep quiet and become party to injustices and indecencies around us.

New Comment on HOW ABOUT NOT SAYING ANYTHING
The Prophet is quoted: "Trust in God, but tie your camel." A Sufi teacher told me of a hidden meaning to the obvious. A camel is the bedouin's most precious possession, so guard it well. One's mouth and words should also be restrained, lest they wander afar." It could also mean: "Trust in God, but keep a close reign on your mouth." joab

Extremely profound piece Afzal! Pertaining to writing; it is difficult for
me not to put pen to page (stroke to keyboard), to be silent because I am as a fish out of water; my element physically is in silent understanding. We can say much more through our actions in silent understanding when in the physical realm. I have been painstakenly attempting to convey through the spiritual realm what I cannot convey physically through action. This proves a controversy as well because I am a writer (we are writers here) and it is our fervent goal to express ourselves through our writen word, but still, they are just words. Thank you for sharing your heart.

sometimes, it is better 'not said' than 'said' because you may regret what you had said.

But prayer can help any situation: miracles have been done with praying over concerns. Salaams
