I am complaining about even pumping gas, much less changing a tire.

Everything was not better in those days but there was so much that was it is sad to see the increase in vulgarity, violence and disrespect. Thank you for your kind words. Thanks for the star.

I have never felt I could not do anything I wanted. I too have always wanted doors opened for me and all the things that enhance a man's worth in my eyes.

There are still a fe "full service" stations in my part of the world. The wash your windows, give your car a quick vacuum while they're filling the tank, and one even gives the ladies a carnation on Fridays. How cool is that!?

I loved those days. If there were a full-service station anywere around, I'm afraid I would still go to it. I think the last one that I found was near the mansion of Loretta Lynn when I was driving through Tennessee. I took full advantage of his hospitality and tipped him accordingly and enjoyed his banter along with his service. I also love this post.
A star for your correct answer to one of the questions on my post today.

just like women marched to get rights that was I am sure part of it and men not opening doors because women would slap their hands as well as if they tried to pull a chair out for a women libber

I used to gladly pay a few cents extra for gas at the good service stations
Even after they gave up the ghost and quit pumping gas, the last "service station" in my area still got all my car repair business until the Volvo developed a problem I can't afford to fix right away. I wouldn't have trusted anyone at a convenience store to touch my wheels.
