I don't think people are evil. Events make people respond to their environemnt in ways that are less than wise. And, we all contribute to this.

I do believe you are right. I believe a lot of people are not bad by their standards they think they are wise. I know you are learned in both the Koran and the Holy Bible this particular scripture is saying that as well. 1Cor4:18 Stop fooling yourselves. If you think you are wise by the world's standards, you will have to become a fool so you can become wise by God's standards. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say. "God catches those who think they are wise in their own cleverness." God bless.
