The UN was never meant to 'force' anything on anybody. Its a association of nations - and nations voluntarily join the institution. In any case, forcing anyone or any nation never amounted to much anyway. If people and nations 'allow' poverty to continue under their noses, tell me, why do we hold the UN accountable? We can't even hold the rich in our countries or our governments accountable. The solution, beisds political, also lies with each of us to see how we exploit the poor and don't give their due, in many numerous acts everyday. Yes?

You make a good point. There is enough food for the world and yet we let people starve. The UN on the other hand has its problems. They are disjointed I think. They seem to center on their specific desires. We must pray.

this does nothing! it only fuels the fire. Instead of WAR on Poverty you need to be PRO ABUNDANCE. Have you seen the DVD "the secret?" I really loved this DVD - it changed my life.

the wealthy nations and they have to do what their voters want - and that is usually of a selfish nature, sadly!
