This is great! I love the music of all three men.
This is great! I love the music of all three men. Johnny was my favorite of the three, but my favorite of all time was Hank Williams Sr. Without Hank Sr. country music would never have been as popular as it is.
I am not mucially inclined at all, but if I was I would definitely play the guitar and perhaps the banjo and fiddle. Oh well like I said I don't have a musical bone in my body; I wish I did.
I love this piece.

That's where I went wrong!
I gave up after about 16 days. Still love guitar music, though.

Many thanks, Notapoet - it took me 16 years to learn to play guitar!
Well, I mean, 16 years to start learning it properly. Then it took me from then till ow to gradually and slowly get better! Glad you enjoyed it!

Johnny, Ray, & Roy
Quite a heavenly trio. I never could play worth a damn (the fretting defeated me), and I sing worse, but I've always loved the music. I also like anything that paints a picture in my mind -- and adds the sound, as well -- of the wonderful days gone by when I discovered each of them. You've done a first rate job of that here.

Hi Durbs - you can even learn from CD-roms these days.
I've got one although I've not put it in the computer yet!! But other than that, learn the absolute basics from a book, and then practice by playing along to music you know and like. That way, you have more fun!

Hi Maryaryary - I play most things on the geetar - not always that well!
The violin is more difficult. Perhaps one or two lessons might get you back in the swing?

Antonio-yo-yo - Lovely musings on such country greats. So this is
the music you enjoy playing on your guitar? I'm still struggling with my violin, but I actually play a little now. It feels good.
