I think we all might be guilty of this one now and then.  LOL.  A mule was asked: “who is your father?’ and he replied “ my uncle is the horse”.

These are eye opening proverbs. incredible. I am afraid I don't understand much about those of the family affairs, they appear to reach out farther than the immediate family a bit more than I understand. Thank you for sharing them with us.

As i said in my reply to Mary, i posted these proverbs for fun and information. Many Arabs do not agree with many of these proverbs. I can see why you disagree with the two proverbs you mentioned, the one about crying and laughing is sometimes interpreted as a call to embrace tough criticism rather than be lured by hollow praise, although modern thinking believes that praise is more effective than criticism.

The other one is not about sacrifice but it is more about the physical drain that is raising kids, again nowadays, the technological and medical advancements mean that a mother can still retain some measure of health, independence and  sanity to have some kind of life after her kids are grown up. It still does not make it an easy job, does it?

Lots of love and thanks for the input

Good evening to you Mary

This was a mixed back of proverbs, i don't agree with all of them as well but i thought that I'd share them with you and see what you think. Bug bites are better, back is much worse but in a different way, the pain has shifted and it gets worse when i move. so well see how long it'll take me to be back on the road. thanks for asking.

P.s. you are gorgeous in a very romantic way Mary, I imagined you to be beautiful but with boyish charm (maybe it was something you said in one of your blogs?). anyway, i have to change the voice that reads your writing in my head to something like Suzan Sarrandon's, what do you think?

I agree with Folliage Gold there are some I agree with and some I don't.  The two I don't agree with are the cry .... laugh one.  Surely it is possible to guide children gently and make them laugh a great deal too.  There was another about it being necessary to sacrifice the self to raise your child ...again I don't agree that is wise.  It's tough to carve out a bit of self time but also essential for any Mother.   Good quotes for thought and discussion.

Those are really neat!  Don't quite agree with them all.    How's your back and all those little bug bites?
