Re: Afzal

Once I spent a week with the Huichol Indians in Mexico,  who live atop the mesas in scattered homes, with San Andreas being the tribal center. The trip is eight days by mule.  The women make all the clothes, usually white cotton type on which they sew incredible designs -- almost cosmic.  And they make a point of leaving it unfinished and with a flaw, to show that God has not finished his handiwork where we humans are concerned.  That does not justify violence with them, but they like all mankind are the handiwork of God -- still imperfect.  They also use peyote and pyslosibin mushrooms in their religious practices.

There was much more after the sacrifice, but this isn't my blog and I don't want to overstay my welcome.

bloggers and lies

One of the most ancient axioms is, and borrowing from the Bard, : "To thine on self be true and it must follow, as night follows day, thous't cannot then be false to any man."

Sometimes, I think we make too much of telling a lie.  I feel its important to understand why a person is lying - usually because they are not comfortable telling the truth or fear the consequences of telling it - so they twist the truth. And, despite the fact th all religious and cultures laying stress on the truth, most of us often lie, to save ourselves.  Is that so hard to undersatnd or forgive?

Flawed humans - that's (unfortunately) one of our most prevalent ones (flaws).
