Re: attached 2 ur head

D.M.

I see by your profile that you haven't been here long enough to have seen much new blogging from me.

It isn't too hard to get the hair that is on your head in your mouth if you are working outside and it is 110 degrees and humid and you are soaked in perspiration.  I don't normally chew gum under those circumstances, but I always like to think about how I could be more miserable when I am in such a situation.  It makes you think how lucky you are.

You ever had gum swinging around in your hair?  It's weird.  Try it with a bead first.  Gum is kind of messy and inconvenient.

Re: Gum and athletes

Scruber,

Is that gum the athletes chew?  I was watching a couple of ball games and I decided that it must be old baseball skins that baseball players were chewing on and old chunks of football leather that those guys were chomping.  I think some nuts chew tobacco, but it can't be very many.  When I tried it I threw up in less than five minutes.  And I mean THREW UP BIG!

Re: time scales

ceil,

I don't like to think about geologic time scales.  They make me feel too fragile and transient.  That has been bothering me lately.  I can only get over it by setting an ice cube on the sidewalk in the 110 degree weather.  That makes me feel almost eternal, but then I wonder how I can endure for so long without going flippo.  If it isn't one thing it's another, isn't it?

Re: Hairy Scary!

straightforward,

I am happy to see that you were by.  I haven't blogged for a while, but I really need to get back to it.  There are some interesting people around here, but when you are away from it for a while, for whatever reason, you tend to forget why you were doing it.  Thank you for being one of my reminders.

Re: your preceding comment

shelly,

I don't like the new comment machine telling me what my subject should be.  I'm revolted.

Yes, I'm back.  I got tied up with a bunch of trials and tribulations; I was in the bloggers' doldrums; a sargasso sea with no wind.  I think a slight puff of breeze just riffled the sails.  As soon as I can figure out what the stupid helmsman did with the compass I plan to go somewhere or other.  What does a compass do, anyway?

Oh well, I never needed one before.

Re: Jack...OMG...I've done this and it definitely is a distinct feeling!

mysteria,

I'm glad you were by.  I didn't think anyone would comment because I have been so lacking in Blogacity lately.  I don't know why.  It might have been because my computer was mad at me.  Or was it because I was mad at it?  I would have attributed it to temporary insanity, but I'm not sure what that is.  How can you tell the difference between temporary insanity and sanity?  It seems to me like it's all a bunch of insanity that just drifts around from place to place.  What are the identifying characteristics of sanity, anyway?  Lots of people think they know, but they just set up the definition so that they are in the middle of the road on the sanity highway.  I did that too, until I realized how insane it was.

Speaking of gum and hair, I used to know a guy from Okie City who said that he and some friends used to get gum gooey warm and throw it from the balcony seats at the movie theater (or is that theatre?  I think theatre is the limey spelling.)  I would have just steered clear of a nut like that, but we were already good friends, and those aren't easy to find.  You get to where you simply accept whatever they come up with.

Oh well, thanks anyway..... JJ Flash, obscenity provocateur...

Man! Your one post in months, and I miss it by a hair...

On a geologic time scale, anyway...

Have you looked at your photo in your "About Me" lately?  Of course you have hair on your tongue!

I wonder how the gum makers all stay in business. It's mostly kids and
athletes who actually chew gum seems to me.

I'd like to hear you go into all the ramifications, actually.

Why is it that we will laugh at a man in a clown outfit,
but we won't laugh at a man just walking down the street
carrying a clown outfit in one of those plastic dry-cleaner bags?
