Neither birth or death
are in our hands. Maybe we fear death because we don't live truthfully, with ourselves. And, we don't see the cycle of birth and death as just that - a continuum - with no beginning and no end. Too much ismade of death I believe.

Humans are afraid of death because it is the unknown
and we also hate seperation from those we love. But the thought of living forever is ghastly.I would get sooooooooooooooo tired...Have you seen a movie called death becomes her featuring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn?eeeew!!!!!

Some people’s pursuit of spiritualism, enlightenment, or religion is driven by a fear of death but those pursuits are self indulgent. Seeking Truths or an inner peace so as to enjoy a richer, fuller life is far more rewarding or meaningful.

I think of death according to my faith, as you stated. My sins are forgiven daily so I take no sin with me. I shall live eternally in whatever capacity God relegates. I don't want to leave my loved ones, nor do I want them to leave me. At the same time I believe their lives will be much better.

I don't really believe in death...only transformation...to our natural form.
I don't believe in punishment either. I can't say that we may all go to the same place, but whatever that place is...I don't see it as a bad one.
I think we go there to reflect on our deeds and experiences and take in knowledge of what we have learned in this human life form.

to quote somebody,
ONE LIVES AS IF THERE IS NO DEATH.
ONE DIES AS IF NEVER LIVED.

Death
That was a very interesting article. My uncle died two weeks ago of colon cancer at the young age of 44. One would argue that he led an amazing and great life, yet he also did things that none of us are proud. I think i believe that all good that you do in life you will be rewarded, and all bad you will be punished. However, i found it comforting to hear from a priest last week how each person's fate is decided the moment they were born. The thing is we speak and write about death, yet none of us really know. None us have been able to survive through the experience and live to tell the truth. I feel religion, using the concepts of heaven and hell, rebirth gives us comfort. I would like to believe that my uncle is in a happier place, but also that his soul is always with me. I don't know and never will, it just a choice of belief... Good article though
