Thanks for stopping by, even if it was a mistake. I was just a little mystified to get a comment with nothing in it -- not even an emoticom. Maybe we're both having a bad day?

Thanks, SoloWriter
That was a nice succinct restatement of most of the points of my post.

And if fools don't rush in,
then fools don't continue to find themselves in situations where they don’t belong, and from which extrication is difficult, embarrassing, and costly. When the cost is taking up our lives, then it is definitely the price of a fool.

I think human beings have a built in gullibility gene that kicks in big time when convincing orators go to work on us. Saddam Hussein is not the first, nor will he be the last tyrant to get away with much. Even our own government is subject to being ridled by corruption and graft if we don't constantly make our elected representatives accountable to those who elected them.

Thanks Parnell and azfal50
I appreciate the kind words. And Parnell, if it weren't for automatic spell check on my word processor I wouldn't spell very well either, especially on the comments where I never seem to be able to remember to use the damned thing.

Yes
we can hope for peace but also live our personal lives in that way. We expect the system to change and often forget that we are the system. Saddam Hussein is one of us and I often wonder why and how we allow oursleves to let phenomena like him and others happen to us.
