Symphony,
very encouraging, and you are right, we are often our own worst critics. Good shoes, and tidy hair are my best tricks, and then I don't worry about the full-length mirror. It would be nice, I think, to be in my dotage and wearing peacock colours, but for now muted will do.

How true...
And as we age, we care less about how we look, casue there isn't anything we can do about it.

Delightful post!!!!

I had one of those bad days yesterday -- my outfit just did NOT work, and I felt like such a misfit!  So I rectified that today with a much better outfit.

I need a personal dresser . . . .

The inner radiance idea is good.

Symphony
You're absolutely right.... a smile and a postive attitude is beauty  (inside and out).  People are drawn to a smile.

it's horrible when you are that insecure.
somehow she has to accept herself as she is....or do something about it.
I know how she feels....I use to be very skinny until I had kids ...now..I have spare parts that I don't want....I went through a stage of not wanting to face anybody....cos I did not want to hear 'oh my, you look swell'

I am eating healthy now....and doing a tiny bit of excercise (being a single mother to a 3 year old and a 7 year old...is excercise in it self)
makes me feel kind of better....more positive....especially when complimented on how much weight I have lost.

my sister isn't that fat either - just chubby
but she wants to look like she did when she was 20 - now she is 49.  i am only skinny because i have a great metabolism (only one in the family) but i still look 47.  but she sneaks food all of the time and you will never lose weight if you eat cakes every day.

See listen to your wise words (your comment to me I mean) Mrs Tanga.
Keep your head held high.

We all feel this now and then - but, don't let it get so bad. Remember the good things you like about yourself.

I couldn't agree with you more.

my sister made me drive 10 miles
to another grocery store because she is fat - and we still saw people we knew.  i wish she would just get over it already.

SYMPHONY
Thanks for the lesson. I am not very particular about how i look, though. My wife makes me completely change my dress often, but when she is not at home, then i can't really decide. But now I will. Do you think that it makes me lose my confidence? Hahaa

So true
But, the trick is also to know what you are really like and then be true to it.  I find most people have hard time knowing who they are.

An excellent post Symphony. This is so true and I find it all the time.

But I will admit that I sometimes dwell too much on my worse parts of how I look and then I get depressed.  I should keep my head high and be self confidant and be friendly to others. It is always the personality really that makes a person even more beautiful.  Thanks for posting this.
