Go to Religion in the Modern World

- Go to Gee . . I didn't know that?
You're most welcome.
It was a pleasure to find someone else has similar misgivings about most organized religions and their intolerant attitudes. Many right wing Christians would have a rude awakening if Jesus were to walk among them today. He would probably be jailed as a suspected terrorist if not assasinated again on the spot.

notapoet - thanx for stopping by
Just when I think that I have been called everything under the sun and have been subjected to every bit of disconnected illogical reasoning ever invented by religious folks, someone comes up with a new one. I could never buy into the absolute word of God in print idea either. I was forced to study it all as a youngster and when reading the chronicled history of the bible, religions and all things holy, there were more than a few flags raised. The word of God as found in the bible is entirely written in the third person? Say what? ....isn' t the use of the third person a rudimentary fiction writing technique? ....then there was the history of the how certain religions were spread around the world, all being influenced entirely by the quest for, and the power wielded by human currencies. ....I know when I'm being fed a yarn.

Never been called that before.
But I do know a lot of "good" Christians who think I'm going straight to hell because I refuse to believe exactly as they do, or to adhere to their warped interpretations of the Bible. They think it's blasphemy when I refer to the Bible as a great book of religious literature rather than the absolute word of God (too many contradictions for me to buy into that) and get infuriated when I point out that good Christians should be following the teachings of Jesus rather than intolerantly hating those who don't subscribe to the same intolerant dogma they do.
Needless to say, I liked your post.

SuccessWarrior - recently someone wrote a thinly veiled post using this
term in reference to me.
I don't have a lot of time for such people other than to use them to illustrate some of the nonsensical premises that some folks are capable of. I quite often feel as if I am dealing with the reasoning capability that one would find in your average schoolyard at recess. What some folks come up with as contentions makes me feel pity for them. They do not have a chance in life. They are simply too limited in their perspectives to ever be anythig more than sheep.
