I do not tolerate deception.

I don't know what I am dealing with if it is a lie, and that is unfair to me. A lie takes away my right of thinking for myself, using my own judgement and making my own honest decisions. For me if I discover one has lied to me in my personal life I am through. I don't need people like that in my life. It is much healthier to present the truth than to create a lie, no matter if you are on the receiving end or the lying. If a person is lied to they will carry on with their life in an unaware fraudulent manner with displaced belief and faith, and they will be hurt to some degree in some fashion later due to the choices they have made on account of that lie. Lies will eventually catch up with a liar because fate has a way of working out that way. a HA!, Karma! Integrity is so much more peaceful to sleep with than dishonor. Besides, I like to be able to face myself in the mirror and feel good about doing so.

Sorry for the rambling. This one hit a spot with me! Grrrrrr.

Care to hear my belief?

In reference to lies I believe:

1) If you are not going to tell the truth don't say anything at all.

2) Don't ask a question if you are not prepared to handle the truth no matter what that truth may be.

3) There is no such thing as 'just a little white lie'

4) There is no such thing as a grey area in detemining truth. There is only black and white. Grey is a   tainting of the white, or 'just a little white lie'.

I wish I had an a good answer for that...or even a bad one. Truth is that I just don't understand people who tell lies for nothing.

Sunny, I know that and in that case you have a justification for telling
lies but what about people who tell lies for nothing .Thanks.

I think you are correct. However, I still do lie somewhat, if I'm too insecure to tell the truth.

Sunny , you are right but then why should you tell lies if you can
represent your case in right perspective you need not tell lies. Telling lies is what somebody else is thinking a lie, suppose I for one think that what I am saying is truth accroding to my experience then it is I think not a lie unless I am conflicting with an absolute truth such as not calling day a day and night a night other then that if you have scope for manupulatin of interpretation of a fact would you still call it a lie, what do you think?

Bhasker, I agree with you partly but I believe that if one is intelligent
then one can place himself/herself in proper perspective and need not tell lies.

I've never lied!   Hahaha....I'm lying!
People tell lies because they think it will benefit them. They think it will make things go in their favor.
I really hate lies. I hate to tell lies. I still do it if I'm insecure, or can't find any other acceptable way to get my feelings out, or feel the truth would cause rejection.

Afzal
In the entire universe, in the whole of creation, man is the only animal that lies, none other than man lie. Man needs a God to atone for his sins. Animals don't need God, because they don't sin. Man is intelligent, animals are not. To deduce it syllogistically, Intelligence itself is evil. Just think on it.

RiFDaws, You have got the point correctly . Thanks.

Wouldn't the root of lies be fear?
Fear of not being respected as we are, fear of our opinions not being accepted, fear of the other person not liking the truth .....

According to the stat's on this subject people tell a lie on average every 10 minutes. Add it all up and that's a lot of lies!

Ah, lies
Far too much is made of telling "the truth."  We lie when we feel the truth will be used against us.  What is more important for me is to understand why someone is not telling the truth and forgive them for it, rathe than berate them. It's not that important.
