Popularity ranking
Please also note that your popularity is going up if the rank number is decreasing, not the other way around.
A blog ranking of 1 is the most popular blog. A blog ranking of #200 is the 200th most popular blog. Therefore, if your blog ranking went from, say 2000 (which would make it the 2000th most popular blog on Blogit) to become the 200th most popular blog, that would mean that your blog is becoming more popular not less.
Thank you.

Please review the Blogit Help page on Tracking Readership, Rankings and Earnings which explains how rankings work:
A blog's popularity rank, as shown on each member's profile, is based on the number of unique readers each day for the past seven days. This benefits blogs that consistently attract readers.
"Unique readers" means that no matter how often someone reads a blog, they are only counted once when the popularity rank is calculated. This ensures fair rankings by allowing each person to only "vote" once. Since the rankings are calculated over seven days, even four days is not necessarily sufficient to change a blog's popularity rank.
To see a blog's popularity rank, click on that blog writer's nickname to see their profile. The popularity rank is displayed next to each blog name. For example, if the popularity rank is 10, that means there are 9 blogs that are more popular than that blog.
If your blog is not as popular as you would like it to be, you may wish to consider reading the Blogit help section titled, Increasing Readership, Rankings and Earnings.
Thank you.

Wha?
Think of it as a 2000 horse race. The horse that is at the very tail (pun material?) of the race is in position 2000. He eats a bag of oats and goes like hell. In so doing, he arrives at postition 200. Did the jockey cause that poor horse to go drastically downward in the size of his postion number, or did somebody put something in the oats?
Hmmmm.
