Oh I wondered where you had "been"
It's true. I have not been reading recently...and it's because I use comments to navigate too much. If I could only have a favorites list based on people vs. blogs, maybe THAT would help me from wandering too far via the comments. I will try to keep myself from wandering off following comment trails.
I have also been "reading silently" for the most part due to having my hands full so I can't type!

Quirky,
I came by to check on you. Haven't been around here much, but that's the nature of things. I guess after a while anyone would feel ignored if you don't respond say after a 1:4 ratio in return visits.

i just don't get that many people read for several reasons, and it takes me alot of time to read and absorb a few. i find i jump back and forth. If I',m on your page I'm probably reading several days worth of posts, not skimming, usually:-) sometimes of course like tonight i only have time for one...but my comments are usually long. Have been meaning to ask you if you have read Aberjhani. If not, do. He writes the most extrodinary poetry and other things too...absolutely captivating. Its time and the fickle heart honey, friendships are probably more likey than loyal readerships

hey:) I am not returning your click....just dropping by
That is what I like about blogit, I can surf around. Of course I do not have any ranking to speak of(or a loyal readership, lol) but ask me if I care!

I can relate, sometimes I just don't leave a comment, don't feel like it, but read certain people because I like them. Believe it or not, some of them get pissed if I don't comment. From now on when I read and don't feel like a comment, I am leaving a rose!

I've found that while some do play the return click game
there are enough who read and comment without that intention. Enough for me to continue practicing and perfecting my effort with satisfactory results. That said, it seems like the polite, friendly thing to do in visiting those who are reading my posts. I try to read my readers first, but I also read and comment on those who infrequently or never come to my blogs simply because I enjoy their work. If that makes any sense, lol. You are a great writer Quirky, be secure in that knowledge and let the clicks fall where they may!

Great to see you posting again.

Quirkyalone, I don't keep a "favorites list". So, often its "out of sight--out of mind" as far as reading and commenting goes. When people comment on my blogs, it reminds me that they are writing also and that I would enjoy reading them too. Reading leads to commenting. Timing is a big thing too. I often blog at strange times. I tend to read the "new posts". I don't think that I often see a new post from you at the time I am reading. Everyone plays this game differently. And, that's what it is, a game. It doesn't pay well enough to be counted as anything else.

You should be writing just to write. Don't concern yourself with rankings in an obscure blogging venue like this one. The "top" bloggers are not the best writers. You truly are among the best. Don't count clicks, count your blessing of having writing ability in a larger sense than in little, old blogit.com.

some people on here are all about clicks and money...
some ppl on blogit have a stupid mentality...if it wasn't for my regular readers, i would have quitted this place...blogit won't make me rich nor famous....that's a matter of fact....i gotta put my efforts elsewhere if i really wanna make it!
Quirky, your blog is interesting and you have helped me a lot with your spiritual threads...just wanted to let you know....

New Here
I started writing for blogit about a week ago. I was surprised at how fast I moved to the first page of each catorgory for my blogs. I have 4 boys and trying to write and read is a challenge but, I want to support others writers just as much as I want to hear about mine. My goal is to make atleast what I put into it and hopefully, at the same time I will make a few of you laugh. Life is too serious and my blogs have some humor in all of them. Keep writing! I added you to my favorite so, I'll keep reading. Best wishes, Mitch

It's a game here. It's for writers, but we must read in order to be read. I assure you, if you did read and had bad writing, you still wouldn't be read. So don't take it so hard. BTW, I've been waiting for your reappearance.

You
were one of my first inspirations around here. I gave up on making money here. I read a few a day and might comment on one or two because I want to. I've realized that unless you put the word "blog-or-blogger" in your title you wont move to the top. ;)... Keep up the good work. I know it just feels good to get caca off your chest...

I don't know about that. I've never been a big commenter, but my journal blog hovers around the top twenty-five when I keep it up. One thing I noticed, when I have several blogs at once, as one rises, the others fall. Readers gravitate to one at any given time, but not all. In essence, not only are you competing with everyone else for clicks, but you're competing with yourself as well.

Quirks,
I was just going through my "fav" list and was purposely looking for you cause I haven't seen a post from you lately. I was gonna email you to see if you were okay. Anyway, I have been reading as much as possible and writing posts at work (when I can) and uploading them on Blogit cause my back injury keeps me from sitting at the computer for very much time. I do it in intervals. Fun stuff. Anyway, you know the Blogit Game, but you can be assured that I will always be reading and looking for you, my friend.

we all have it happen. Sometimes people comment on mine and sometimes they don't....I click alot but don't always comment.

Hi Quirky
Well, I find it all hard to nail down...patterns, and so on. I'm too irregular at posting, I guess. Sometimes I post three days in a row, then I dry up for a week, come back for two days...etc. And my reading is equally erratic. For me, it's all fits and starts. I've been feeling the writer's blah lately, too. Probably need my batteries recharging. Anyway, just keep writing as the mood strikes you, that's what I say. (For what it's worth...lol)

Quirk, After all this is a group of writers not readers. In that sense it
is only a mock trial for the world of media and lit. If we drop out, tune out, etc. others do too.

Many of us are very busy right now and I don't think you should take your lack of comments as a disregard for you or your writing. I am trying to catch up as I write this because I just havn't had the time to keep up.

Quirky,
I've been so busy with school the last few weeks I've not done much myself with writing or even commenting. It all ends today and I'm going to kick back tonight, watch Ghost Whisperer and maybe log back on afterwards. Sorry you are having the writer's block. You know how I personally feel about the clicky trend.
