Great story about Carl's surpise on your birthday a few(??!! ack!) years back.
Isn't it funny how we keep these "items" around the house--the keepsakes which are priceless.
Nice story. The addition of the picture was a nice touch, too.

One day there will be a woman who sees you as I see Carl and then you will be worse than I am.

Ah go look closely in the mirror, forty is beautiful, betcha Carl thinks so too.
Go look in your eyes and you'll see the beautiful soul, the rest doesn't matter luv, it's coating the soul with beauty we are here for. You've done a marvelous job on yours

That really is the sweetest thing I've ever read..
I actually felt a tug at my heart strings when I got to the end and the blurry picture. You truly are a special person, not many ladies I know are so sentimental and romantic, really very very special.
Now I really have to go puke, I've had enough sweet shit for one night!
BLAGH!!!!!

MW, little things in life are the best!
That cake and pizza tasted so good and memorable because it was topped with all that love from Carl and the kids! Those memories are the best!
Don't regret turning 40 - it's not bad when you consider the alternative. Just put it on hold and celebrate it when Carl comes home again. God bless.

I felt your hurt about being forgotten and then when Carl came through for you my emotions took over. Don't you know it is hard to see the screne with tears in your eyes, good thing I don't have to see the keys. You have a gift of reader identification. I felt the hurt and happiness you felt. You are a good writer.
